Job summary

AdventHealth in Shawnee Mission, Kansas is seeking a Registered Nurse for PRN night shifts. You will deliver high‑quality patient care, perform assessments, administer medications, and collaborate with the care team in a fast‑paced hospital setting.

This role offers flexible contract assignments, direct AdventHealth placement with no third‑party agency, and the potential to transition to permanent staff. A strong nursing background and BLS/ TNCC preferred; RN licensure in good standing is

Qualifications

Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care.
Basic computer skills – must be able to navigate Microsoft windows based programs.
Must be fluent in English (read, verbal and written skills).

Responsibilities

Demonstrates critical thinking skills appropriate to patient’s level of care.
Collects and documents patient health data systematically and timely.
Conducts thorough assessments and develops individualized care plans to optimize outcomes.
Administers medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety.
Communicates effectively with patients, families, physicians, and staff.
Maintains compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
Follows PPE and infection control procedures and hand hygiene policies.
Performs other duties as assigned.
