Job summary

AdventHealth in Killeen, Texas is seeking a Night RN to assist with newborn care during deliveries, providing immediate care and maintaining resuscitation skills. The role supports obstetric patients, documents care activities, and aids in transfers as needed.

The position requires an Associate’s Nursing degree (Bachelor’s preferred), BLS, NRP, and RN license, with 1+ labor and delivery experience preferred. Night shift, full-time, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Experience in newborn care and obstetric settings is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Assist with newborn care at deliveries and provide immediate care.
• Maintain neonatal resuscitation skills to respond to emergencies.
• Identify and report maternal and newborn problems to the physician.
• Assist with transfer of newborns to other facilities when indicated.
• Band newborns, mothers, and significant others to prevent mix-ups.
• Document all care activities in medical records.
• Provide intraoperative support in the Labor & Delivery operating room.
• Perform sterilization processing for instruments per standards.
• Offer emotional support to grieving families and refer to support groups.
• Educate families about newborn care and post-discharge care.
