Job summary

OU Health is seeking an RN Resident for the High Risk Antepartum/Postpartum/OB Special Care Unit in Oklahoma City. The role supports antepartum, postpartum, and newborn patients with education and care planning, including pursuing AWHONN fetal heart monitoring certification.

The RN I position works under supervision, upholds OU Health values, and advances from novice to competent through practice, mentorship, and ongoing certification maintenance.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Experience: 0-3 years of patient care as an RN.
• Demonstrated knowledge of nursing theory and procedures.
• Licensed RN and BLS certification required on hire.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Align behaviors with OU Health values and nursing standards.
• Manage an assigned patient or group of patients.
• Document patient responses and changes in orders.
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor procedures.
• Monitor and intervene on patient physiological data.
• Administer prescribed medications and IV infusions.
• Ensure safe, competent patient care and timely discharge communication.
