Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Cardiac-Stroke Center, working evenings and nights (1900-0730) with every 3rd weekend rotation. The role emphasizes patient-centered care and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

You will assess and plan care, document in real time, educate patients and families, and supervise other staff as assigned. ACLS or willingness to obtain, BLS, and RN license in IA are required, with ongoing

Qualifications

• BSN preferred and current RN license in IA or compact state.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS within six months of hire if not current.
• Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse/Iowa Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training required.

Responsibilities

• Communicate accurate information during handoffs to patients, families and co-workers.
• Assess, plan, implement, coordinate and evaluate patient care based on plan of care.
• Maintain real-time documentation of nursing care.
• Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff as assigned.
• Provide patient and family education and ensure safety throughout care.
