Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts is seeking a registered nurse to provide planning, delivery and management of direct patient care using the nursing process. The role covers a full range of patient ages and requires strong clinical judgment.

The position emphasizes adherence to nursing standards, ongoing assessment, discharge planning and collaborative teamwork. Night shift, 12-hour blocks, with weekend scheduling and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts nursing licensure and registration.
• BLS required; ACLS current if applicable.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of nursing discipline.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Nursing Process for the delivery and management of patient’s care from Admission to Discharge, appropriate to the developmental age of the patient population.
• Performs patient assessment/reassessment according to standard procedure.
• Develops and coordinates individual plan of care including discharge planning.
• Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluate nursing care within assigned clinical setting.
• Delegates appropriately to others in accordance with job description and competency level.
