Job summary

The Respiratory Therapist - RRT at Community Health Systems, Inc. will administer pharmacological, diagnostic, and therapeutic respiratory care per physician orders, perform assessments, monitor responses, implement treatment plans, and document thoroughly, ensuring patient safety and high-quality care under established policies.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of respiratory experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• RRT certification required.
• ACLS and PALS required; NRP and STABLE required for NICU roles.

Responsibilities

• Administers advanced respiratory treatments and monitors patient responses.
• Orients patient to treatment modality to encourage cooperation.
• Performs ABG punctures and reports results promptly.
• Assists physicians with bedside procedures as assigned.
• Performs pulmonary testing procedures as assigned.
• Follows respiratory protocols and safety standards during procedures.
• Maintains and cleans respiratory equipment and ensures safety and infection control.
• Documents treatments, assessments, and patient responses clearly and thoroughly.
• Ensures proper PPE use and patient identification to maintain safety.
