Job summary

Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking a Full-time Rapid Response Nurse (RN) for night shifts 7:00pm–7:30am, 3 x 12-hour shifts per week. The Rapid Response Nurse escalates issues, maintains equipment, and stabilizes patients per evidence-based practices.

The role requires 3–5 years of Critical Care or Emergency Room experience, a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, and current BLS and ACLS certifications; CEN or CCRN within 6 months is preferred. VA licensure or multi-state RN license is required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience as a Critical Care (ICU) or Emergency Room RN.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA).
• If RN has an Associate's Degree, BSN must be completed within 5 years of start date.

Responsibilities

• Responds to RRT/rapid response calls and stabilizes patients per policy.
• Maintains equipment and monitors; ensures accurate documentation in medical records.
• Provides training and education on emergency response within the organization.
