Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a Mental Health Worker to support a Psychiatric Unit during the night shift. You will work under the guidance of the Professional Nurse to deliver direct patient care, maintain a safe therapeutic milieu, and participate in treatment planning with a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires an Associate Degree (Baccalaureate preferred), current BLS, and Crisis Management certification or active enrollment.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree required; a Baccalaureate Degree in a Human Service or related field is preferred.
• Current BLS certification; Crisis Management certification current or enrollment at Rhode Island Hospital.
• Care for adult patients across the lifespan with attention to aging, development, and cultural patterns.

Responsibilities

• Participates in treatment planning by completing assessment areas and collaborating with the Professional Nurse to develop the initial problem list and plan.
• Communicates treatment plans with the multidisciplinary team.
• Implements the treatment plan per unit policies and maintains therapeutic limits.
• Reviews treatment plans and problem lists daily.
• Provides input at team meetings to evaluate care.
• Documents patient/family interactions accurately in flowsheets.
