Job description

The Night Production Supervisor is responsible for directing shift personnel in the operation of the facility, ensuring consistent manufacture of finished products that meet all customer volume and quality requirements.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate activities within all process areas to ensure product meets all defined scheduling and quality requirements.
2. Work with Operators to organize and maximize the inclusion of all raw materials and rework in the production process.
3. Monitor physical characteristics hourly. Evaluate products for specs, grits, flavor, density, mix abilities, and moisture, ensuring finished product meets all quality specifications.
4. Implement and enforce safety and regulatory programs for the long-term safe operation of the facility.
5. Lead and supervise all production personnel, establishing education and development programs including SOPs, quality specifications, safety, and job expectations.
6. Communicate performance/KPI's to the team daily.
7. Ensure inventory accuracy and the timely completion of all shift reports, including inventory levels as per the plant's KPI matrix. Coordinate record-keeping with the Production Manager, including production, quality assurance, inventory control, production planning, and administrative tasks.
8. Be responsible for nightly production reporting.
9. Collaborate with the Process Manager and Production Manager to evaluate production and efficiency records to improve equipment capabilities and outputs.
10. Assist in developing weekly and/or monthly production schedules and employee staffing based on business needs.
11. Maintain and improve plant sanitation programs, ensuring the plant remains clean and orderly.
12. Coordinate equipment repairs with the Maintenance department and schedule preventative maintenance.
13. Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory policies and practices, including company, state, and federal regulations.
14. Assist with period-end and year-end inventory balancing.

Position Requirements:

• At least 2 years of previous management experience, preferably in a dairy processing plant.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Proficiency with computer software applications.
• Previous supervisory experience.
