Job summary

Ingalls Memorial Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Therapist - Registry - Per Diem - PRN to join their Respiratory Care Services team. The role focuses on administering therapies, assessing cardiopulmonary status, and managing NIV and mechanical ventilation per department protocols.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate’s degree and an active RRT license, with BLS current and licensure in Illinois. A Bachelor’s degree and advanced certifications are preferred. Night shift coverage is included.

Qualifications

• Associates degree from an approved respiratory care program.
• Active RRT credential from NBRC.
• Current Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner license or eligibility.
• Active Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Administers oxygen/medical gas therapy per physician order or approved protocols and documents in EPIC.
• Delivers bronchodilators, steroids, mucolytics and other therapies per protocol and documents in EPIC in real time.
• Performs bronchopulmonary hygiene and airway care procedures with proper documentation.
• Initiates and monitors non-invasive ventilation and invasive mechanical ventilation as directed and documents in EPIC.
• Assesses cardiopulmonary status, participates in ventilator management and weaning plans.
• Performs ABG analysis and maintains quality control per guidelines.
• Provides patient transport as needed with oxygen delivery systems and ventilators.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
