Job summary

Exclusive Collection’s Fanhams Hall in Ware, UK, is seeking a Night Porter to be the trusted face of the hotel through the night. You will ensure guests feel safe, welcomed and cared for from arrival to departure, while upholding exceptional standards for which the venue is known.

You will manage overnight guest needs, carry out safety checks, assist late arrivals, set up public areas for the next day and liaise with the day team to ensure smooth handovers.

Qualifications

• Experience in night porter or security or hospitality roles preferred but not essential.
• Reliable, trustworthy and able to work independently during night shifts.
• Strong communication and attention to safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Be the main overnight point of contact for guests.
• Carry out regular security and safety checks across the property.
• Assist with late arrivals and early departures.
• Prepare public areas for the following day and ensure presentation.
• Respond to guest requests and emergencies calmly and efficiently.
• Perform night audits and administrative tasks as required.
• Coordinate with daytime staff for smooth handovers.

Key Responsibilities

As a Night Porter, you will be the trusted face of the hotel throughout the night, ensuring our guests feel safe, welcomed and cared for from arrival to departure. Our Night Porter will:

• Act as the main point of contact for guests during overnight hours
• Carry out regular security and safety checks across the property
• Assist with late arrivals and early departures
• Set up public areas for the following day, ensuring cleanliness and presentation
• Respond to guest requests and emergencies calmly and efficiently
• Complete night audits and required administrative tasks
• Liaise with the day team to ensure smooth handovers

Person Specification

You will be a reliable and self-motivated individual who takes pride in delivering exceptional service and creating a positive guest experience, even during the quieter hours of the day. Ideally, our Night Porter will:

• Have previous night porter, security or hospitality experience preferred but not essential
• Be reliable, trustworthy and able to work independently
• Be calm, professional manner with good communication skills
• Have strong attention to detail and awareness of safety procedures
• Have a positive and helpful approach to guest service
