Job summary

West Tennessee Healthcare in Jackson, TN is seeking a polysomnographic technologist to perform sleep studies and score recordings during the 12-night shift. You will hook up patients, calibrate equipment, and ensure high-quality polysomnography data across 3-5 days per payroll period.

The role requires BRPT/RPSGT or equivalent certification, Tennessee license, BLS, and training in polysomnography. You will train new staff, maintain gear, and support the Sleep Disorders Center on nights.

Qualifications

• Through training in polysomnographic technology or related paramedical specialties.
• BRPT/RPSGT, NBRC/ABSM credentials required.
• Tennessee license and current BLS certification required.
• Proficiency in sleep disorders technology and related protocols.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient hook-ups, patient and machine calibrations, and recording following established protocol and standard procedures.
• Produces optimal recordings of EOG, EMG. EKG, SA02, Airflow Impedance, and Nasal CPAP.
• Utilizes ancillary monitoring/recording equipment interfaced with EEG and polygraph.
• Continuously monitors patient activity – ensures patient safety and maintains quality recordings.
• Performs equipment cleaning, minor repairs, and reports major repairs to the Practice Administrator.
• Acts as preceptor for new sleep technicians as directed by department manager.
• Inventories supplies, repairs, and informs Practice Administrator of materials needed.
• Performs related work in data collection, record scoring, and record keeping.
• Contributes to a positive work climate and the overall team effort of the department.
• Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.
