Qualifications

• License as California Physician Assistant (PA)
• DEA certification within 3 months of hire
• National PA board certification
• AHA BLS or UC Davis Health CPR
• AHA PALS training
• Master's or PhD in PA program
• 1+ year clinical PA experience in PICU/PCICU or pediatric cardiac step-down
• Ability to work flexible hours
• Strong communication and judgment skills
• Self-direction and organization for independent role
• Credentialing and billing standard compliance

Responsibilities

• Provide direct inpatient care to PICU/PCICU with a focus on PCICU patients
• Develop and implement patient care plans per established protocols
• Collaborate with attending physicians, residents, and staff
• Educate patients, families, ICU staff, and medical students
• Order, interpret diagnostic tests, and initiate treatments as appropriate
• Participate in research or quality improvement projects within PICU/PCICU
