Responsibilities

• Collect, label, and transport patient specimens for testing including routine and advanced venipuncture.
• Uphold organization values and provide exemplary customer service throughout preanalytical and analytical processes.
• Initiate intervention on unacceptable specimens and ensure proper patient identification before collection.
• Perform venipuncture within required time frames and handle STAT/Timed orders promptly.
• Operate lab computer systems to activate orders, manage tests, and enter comments.
• Maintain stock of supplies and ensure equipment/ carts are properly charged and functional.
• Adhere to universal precautions and infection control practices.
• May train new staff or students and participate in quality improvement activities.
