Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Assistant to perform phlebotomy and related collection procedures. You will process specimens, perform testing under trained competency, and support clinical floor staff.

Qualifications

• HS/GED with nine months of phlebotomy experience; PBT (ASCP) or equivalent preferred.
• BLS certification required at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy and other collection procedures according to established procedures.
• Performs specialized collections such as urine drug collections and PPDs if required.
• Processes requisitions and enters test orders; verifies specimens and prints labels.
• Receives, processes and stores specimens; performs biohazard disposal as needed.
• Performs waived and moderate complexity testing with proper training and competency.
• Maintains equipment and performs routine maintenance and calibration as needed.
• Orders and maintains supplies and inventory; ensures regulatory compliance.
• Assists clinical floor staff with stocking supplies, patient transport and related tasks.
