Job summary

MemorialCare Health System in Long Beach, CA, is seeking a Phlebotomist for Miller Children’s Hospital to join the Clinical Lab team. The role involves blood collection for health assessments and performing pre-analytic and analytic work under a California Licensed Supervisor, with a Night shift (8 hours).

You will extract venipuncture and capillary samples from pediatric and neonatal patients, ensure safety, and manage data and documentation while contributing to quality projects.

Qualifications

• Previous experience performing venipuncture on hospital-based patient populations preferred.
• Knowledge of specimen collection techniques, equipment, and specimen handling required.
• 4 years of experience in a pediatric setting is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collection activities for laboratory testing and health assessment.
• Perform venipuncture and finger-stick collection from pediatric and neonatal patients.
• Ensure equipment and safety devices are used properly following guidelines.
• Manage data and documentation for samples and tests.
• Participate in department education and training inservices.
