Job summary

Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital is seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist to join our patient‑centered laboratory team on the night shift. You will perform venipuncture and capillary collection, label specimens, and ensure accurate documentation to support high‑quality patient care.

Responsibilities include reviewing reports, delivering specimens to the appropriate lab section, and maintaining logs. A high school diploma/GED is required with California phlebotomy licensure; one year of acute care

Qualifications

• One year of acute care experience preferred.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Current California phlebotomy license required.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens by venipuncture or capillary puncture.
• Identify protocols, collect and label specimens accurately.
• Review outstanding specimen reports during shift and act on uncollected tests.
• Process outpatients and provide collection instructions and supplies.
• Deliver specimens to the correct laboratory section promptly.
• Process orders in accordance with turnaround time policies.
• Communicate and follow up on unclear or discrepant orders.
• Perform clerical tasks using the laboratory computer system.
• Maintain accurate phlebotomy and meal/break logs.
• Know and apply criteria for specimen rejection.
