Job summary

Advocate Health in Wisconsin's Burlington area is seeking a Phlebotomist to support clinical labs. You will perform venipuncture, collect specimens from newborn to adult patients, ensure accurate labeling, and assist with specimen processing under CLIA guidelines.

The role requires basic computer skills, strong communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Shifts include 10-hour blocks with 7-on/7-off rotation, weekends and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates knowledge of phlebotomy or related laboratory function.
• Basic computer skills including experience using computer software applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; good listening skills.

Responsibilities

• Verifies positive patient identification to ensure patient safety.
• Performs venipuncture and collects specimens from patients of all ages.
• Ensures specimens are properly labeled and suitable for testing; resolves issues.
• Performs limited testing under CLIA guidelines per policy.
• Operates computer systems for lab results entry and reporting.
