Job summary

UNC Health in Chapel Hill, NC, is seeking a per diem Pharmacist to provide inpatient pharmacy services. You will review prescriptions, optimize therapy, and supervise pharmacy staff during shifts.

Requires PharmD or BS Pharmacy and Active NC pharmacist licensure (or eligibility with licensure within 6 months). Prior experience not mandatory; opportunities to precept students and participate in training exist.

Qualifications

• Active licensure as a pharmacist; NC Board of Pharmacy required or obtainable before employment.
• No prior experience required.
• Experience in patient counseling and drug therapy is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Receives and interprets prescriptions; reviews patient medication history and intervenes as needed.
• Uses patient data to optimize drug therapy and make clinical interventions with providers.
• Oversees preparation and dispensing of medications, including sterile products.
• Counsels patients and families on pharmaceutical care issues.
• Directs shift workflow and supervises pharmacy staff on duty.
• Adheres to policies, procedures and regulations; participates in process improvements.
