Job summary

Banner Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse for the Perianesthesia department. You will prep patients for surgery, start IVs, ensure consent and paperwork are complete, and assist with nerve blocks.

You will care for patients in post-anesthesia recovery (phase 1 and 2), join a cohesive night team, and contribute to achieving optimal patient outcomes through evidence-based practice.

Qualifications

• Current, valid RN license in the state of practice.
• BLS certification required.
• Acute care experience preferred for Banner roles.
• Must maintain clinical competencies through annual validations.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients preoperatively and prepare for surgery, including IV start and consent checks.
• Administer preop meds and support anesthesia and surgical teams.
• Care for patients post anesthesia recovery (phase 1 and 2).
• Document care accurately in patient records and communicate progress to the team.
• Provide evidence-based nursing care and participate in quality improvement.
• May supervise staff and coordinate unit workflow as needed.
