Global Protection & Investigations (GPI) is actively seeking Night Patrol Officer to join our Wednesday–Sunday night schedule. The role involves mobile and foot patrols across multiple properties, handling calls for service, and maintaining a professional presence at night.

The ideal candidate will have a valid CA guard card, a clean driving record, and the ability to work the required Wednesday–Sunday night shift. Opportunities exist for advancement into supervisory and specialized positions.

Qualifications

• Valid California BSIS Guard Registration (Guard Card) required.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record for mobile patrol duties.
• High school diploma or GED completed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct vehicle and foot patrols of assigned properties.
• Complete scheduled property and security checks.
• Respond to dispatched calls for service and document incidents.
• Maintain a visible and professional security presence during patrols.
• Monitor parking areas, entrances, and common areas for suspicious activity.
• Identify suspicious persons, vehicles, and unsafe conditions.
• Complete DARs and incident reports accurately and on time.
• Follow post orders and company policies; communicate with dispatch.
• Operate assigned vehicles safely and contact authorities when needed.

Full Job Description

Global Protection & Investigations (GPI) is currently hiring a dependable and professional Night Patrol Officer for an immediate opening on our Wednesday through Sunday night patrol schedule.

This position requires availability Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during nighttime and overnight hours. If you are not available to consistently work nights on these days, this position may not be a suitable match.

Our Patrol Officers are responsible for conducting mobile and foot patrols across assigned properties, responding to calls for service, completing property checks, addressing security concerns, documenting incidents, and maintaining a professional security presence throughout their assigned patrol area.

This is an active field position. Officers must be comfortable working independently, driving for extended periods, conducting foot patrols, interacting professionally with the public, and responding to changing situations throughout the night.

Responsibilities

• Address unauthorized persons and trespassing in accordance with company policy and applicable law
• Conduct building and perimeter checks
• Document security incidents, property damage, safety hazards, and unusual activity
• Complete accurate Daily Activity Reports (DARs) and incident reports
• Maintain regular communication with dispatch and field supervision
• Follow assigned post orders and company policies
• Follow the established chain of command
• Safely operate assigned company vehicles and equipment
• Contact law enforcement, fire, or EMS when appropriate
• Perform additional patrol and security duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid California BSIS Guard Registration (Guard Card)
• Valid driver's license
• Acceptable driving record for mobile patrol duties
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to work the required Wednesday–Sunday night schedule
• Reliable transportation to and from the assigned reporting location
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to write clear and professional security reports
• Strong observational and decision-making skills
• Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision
• Ability to follow dispatch instructions and established procedures
• Professional appearance and conduct
• Dependable attendance and punctuality

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous mobile patrol experience
• Previous private security experience
• Military, law enforcement, corrections, fire/EMS, or public-safety experience
• Experience responding to calls for service
• Experience with electronic reporting, dispatch, or security applications
• Familiarity with commercial, residential, or multi-property patrol operations

Physical Requirements

Applicants must be able to perform the essential functions of a mobile security position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including:

• Walking and standing for extended periods
• Entering and exiting a patrol vehicle repeatedly throughout the shift
• Driving for extended periods
• Conducting foot patrols of buildings, parking areas, and exterior property
• Working outdoors during nighttime hours and varying weather conditions
• Using radios, mobile devices, and other assigned security equipment

Availability Requirement

REQUIRED AVAILABILITY: WEDNESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY – NIGHT SHIFT

This position is being recruited specifically to cover our Wednesday–Sunday nighttime patrol operations.

Applicants should only apply if they can reliably maintain this schedule. Monday and Tuesday are the regularly scheduled days off.

Availability provided during the application and interview process will be considered when determining whether an applicant meets the operational requirements of this opening.
