Job summary

Hartford HealthCare Backus Hospital in Norwich, CT is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Nurse Leader in a high-activity hospital setting.

No experience is required as on-site orientation is provided; a Certified BLS Provider credential from the American Heart Association is required within 60 days. Certification as CNA/CPCT/A/EMT/CMA is preferred for advancement through the PCT ladder.

Qualifications

• No experience required; training provided on-site.
• Successful completion of PCT orientation.
• Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 2 months (60 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of a Nurse Leader, performs direct and indirect patient care activities essential to providing a safe and efficient care environment.
• Contributes to providing comprehensive care to patients in accordance with regulatory and hospital standards, policies, and procedures.
• Together with the care team, ensures a positive patient experience.
