Job summary

Lee's Summit Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). You will manage airway support, monitor neurological and cardiac status, provide wound care, and collaborate with the surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure patient stability during recovery.

Responsibilities include continuous assessment, timely documentation, and patient/family education. On-call availability during select non-business hours will be discussed in the interview, with 1-2 holidays

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• PALS must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• RN license required
• Prior PACU or ICU experience required
• On-Call: 1-2 holidays per year and weekend rotation every 6 weeks

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in the immediate post-operative phase
• Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams and other disciplines
• Apply the nursing process with critical thinking and leadership to ensure safe care
• Assess patient condition, monitor changes, and document care provided
• Educate patients and families about condition and follow-up measures
