Job summary

Mars, Incorporated in Topeka, Kansas, is seeking a Packaging Operator for the night shift at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. You will ensure efficient production, quality checks, and accurate recordkeeping while supporting maintenance and inventory control.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
• Standing on a concrete floor.
• Wearing proper personal protective equipment (hair net, bump cap, ear plugs, safety shoes, and uniform).
• Bending, stooping, twisting, turning, standing for extended time periods, reaching, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Forklift assignments require OSHA certification and getting on and off frequently.

Responsibilities

• Operates equipment safely and efficiently across a line or area.
• Takes corrective actions to solve problems at the root cause level.
• Performs routine maintenance and repairs with maintenance team as needed.
• Maintains accurate records of quality checks, production numbers, and waste performance.
• Keeps logbooks and completes shift documentation in a quality manner.
• Performs quality control checks such as metal inspections and date code verifications.
• Operates forklift and computer systems used in production (LSS, PSL, MIS, SQCIS, etc.).
• Understands production schedules and inventory control principles.
