Job summary

Schreiber Foods in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a fulltime night-shift Packaging Operator to run a consistent 6:45 pm – 7:00 am rotating schedule. You will safely operate packaging equipment, troubleshoot, and maintain a clean, organized work area to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum one year on a production/packaging line.
• Minimum one year in a food manufacturing environment preferred.
• Forklift certification required.
• Lockout Tagout (LOTO) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate packaging equipment and machinery.
• Perform troubleshooting and predictive maintenance inspections, as well as minor repairs as needed.
• Maintain working area as clean, organized, and free of standing water.
• Closely monitor packaging quality, make necessary adjustments and communicate changes.
• Keep detailed records and document changes made to the machine during the shift.
• Perform set-up activities such as mechanical assembly and loading packaging materials.
• Responsible for cleaning packaging equipment and related areas regularly.
• Meet production needs and minimize product shrink and downtime.
• Maintain consumables levels and participate in shift exchanges and team meetings.
• Identify CCPs and follow GMPs and safety SOPs for chemicals.
