EIS Group is seeking a proactive Domestic Coordinator to join our freight forwarding team in Maryland. You will manage domestic shipments from pickup to delivery, serving as the main point of contact for customers and carriers while ensuring accurate documentation and records.
You will use a TMS and MS Office to track shipments, coordinate with sales and ops, and maintain high service levels in a fast-paced environment.
We are looking for a proactive and highly organized Domestic Coordinator to join our freight forwarding team. This role is key to ensuring the smooth and cost-effective movement of domestic freight while maintaining exceptional service levels to both customers and carriers. The ideal candidate is sharp, service-minded, and understands the balance between profitability and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate, schedule, and monitor domestic shipments (LTL, FTL) from pickup to final delivery.
Provide exceptional customer service, acting as the primary point of contact for both clients and carriers.
Track and trace shipments proactively, keeping all parties informed of status and resolving issues in real time.
Prepare accurate documentation including BOLs, shipping labels, and customer instructions.
Maintain accurate records in our TMS and internal systems; ensure all shipment details are properly entered and up to date.
Work closely with the sales and operations team to ensure the smooth transition of day to evening and evening to night operations.
Qualifications:
1–3 years of experience in domestic freight forwarding, logistics, or transportation coordination.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable working with both customers and carrier reps.
Experience with TMS software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of handling a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Knowledge of freight classes, accessorial charges, and carrier requirements preferred.
