Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System in Council Bluffs, IA is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support patient care during 24-hour night shifts. You will assist with personal hygiene, mobility, vital signs, and daily living activities while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Completion of a Nurse Assistant course (75 hours) or 6 months Nurse Assistant experience required.
• High school students 16+ may apply if requirements are met.
• Current BLS certification preferred; required within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Gives individualized patient care and communication with patients, families and staff.
• Responds promptly and courteously to patient needs and feedback.
• Assist with ADL and transfer activities per plan of care.
• Document all data in Cerner or worksheets accurately and timely.
• Perform housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean, safe patient environment.
• Respond to call lights and coordinate with care team to meet patient needs.
• Prepare exam rooms and equipment for treatment per protocol.
• Maintain organized clinical care stock and rooms.
• Cover front reception area as needed and assist with intake/scheduling.
