Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing.
• Basic understanding of psychiatric nursing theory and practice.
• Demonstrated clinical competency in providing general nursing care.
• Current LPN Licensure in the state of Michigan.
• CPR/HWC certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care according to nursing care plans and the patient’s treatment plan.
• Maintains a safe and therapeutic milieu in collaboration with the team.
• Assists with behavior management, crisis control, seclusion and restraint, under the direction of the RN.
• Assists RN with patient admissions and discharges.
• Administers medications and treatments; documents administration and monitoring outcomes.
