Cleveland Clinic Main Campus in Cleveland, OH is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager for the H71 Digestive Disease General Surgery Unit. This role supports the Nurse Manager with clinical supervision and unit coordination to deliver world-class surgical care.

The caregiver will work nights from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with six weekend shifts in a 6-week cycle and rotating holidays. Responsibilities include supervising operations, coordinating care, mentoring staff and driving quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the AHA or Red Cross upon hire or within one year of employment.
• Two years of recent clinical nursing experience.
• Strong demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate unit clinical operations.
• Provide patient care.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration among unit caregivers and other departments/units.
• Review major operational patient care issues with Nurse Managers.
• Provide ongoing clinical evaluations of caregivers, counsel on performance issues, administer initial corrective actions and monitor attendance.
• Interview, select and orient new caregivers.
• Monitor adherence to EEO/AAP goals and guidelines.
• Prepare work schedules to ensure adequate coverage on all shifts.
• Participate in and support quality improvement projects, outcomes, studies and research initiatives.
• Assist in orienting new personnel, continuing education and in-service educational programs
• Assume responsibilities of the Nurse Manager in their absence.
