Job summary

White Plains Hospital Medical Center is seeking a Neonatal NP to join the Neonatology team in White Plains, NY. This exempt, full-time position covers the Nights shift (7pm–7:30am) with alternating weekends and holidays and involves attending births in Labor & Delivery, evaluating infants, and cooperating with Neonatologists for optimal patient care.

The role requires a Master’s in Nursing, NYS NP certification (Family or Pediatric), NYS RN license, and current BLS/NRP certifications; Neonatal

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited school.
• Neonatal certification in area of clinical specialty (Preferred).
• Current NYS license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
• Current NYS certification as a Nurse Practitioner (Family or Pediatric).
• Maintains a current collaborative practice agreement.
• Current National Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification (required).

Responsibilities

• Understand and adhere to performance standards, policies and behaviors.
• Conduct physical exams, assess health status, order and interpret tests, prescribe medications, and treat illnesses.
• Assist Neonatologist by attending births in Labor and Delivery including assessment, evaluation and treatment of the infant.
• Respond to and evaluate infants in the Transitional Nursery, Labor and Delivery, and Emergency Department.
• Round on NICU patients and facilitate care with the Attending.
• Assist with procedures requiring an assistant and perform phlebotomy and IV access.
• Document patient information accurately and maintain confidentiality; participate in rounds and interdisciplinary collaboration.
