Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Neurodiagnostic Technologist to join our Feinberg/Galter site in Chicago. You will independently prepare patients for EEG/EMG studies, place recording electrodes, and follow established protocols to ensure accurate results during 12-hour night shifts.

This non-exempt position requires BLS CPR, EEG/EMG registry or eligibility, and ongoing training. You will troubleshoot signals, document findings, support teamwork, and participate in department quality

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• BLS/CPR certification (AHA).
• EEG/EMG registry eligibility or active registration.
• R.EEG.T registration preferred (ABRET).
• R.NCS T. or CNCT certification preferred (AAET/ABEM).

Responsibilities

• Complete paperwork before study and billing information after procedure.
• Independently prepare patient, place recording electrodes per protocol.
• Recognize signal issues and obtain troubleshooting assistance as needed.
• Communicate abnormalities to Coordinator or neurologist.
• Maintain and stock equipment and supplies, record study details.
• Record observations accurately and support interdepartmental teamwork.
• Provide training for new technicians and student preceptors.
• Participate in department quality activities and ongoing education.
• Assist with report typing, distribution, filing, and storage duties.
