Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General in Akron, OH, is seeking an RN for the Neonatal ICU. This 14-bed level III NICU delivers care to high-risk neonates, including those requiring cooling, respiratory support, and IV nutrition.

The role involves 7:00pm-7:30am shifts with every other weekend and select holidays. You’ll work with neonatologists, nurse practitioners, and a full allied team to ensure family-centered care.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or Red Cross
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through AHA or Red Cross upon or within one year of hire
• Within six months of hire: Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) completion

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for a given patient population.
• Complete ongoing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
• Develop and update goals, involve patients and families in care plans, coordinate the interdisciplinary plan and serve as patient advocate.
• Provide nursing care, administer treatments and medications, and document.
• Participate in interdisciplinary evaluation of outcomes and contribute to quality improvement.
• Delegate tasks, mentor colleagues, pursue ongoing education and obtain required certifications.
• Complete admission assessments of maternal and/or infant patients and ensure safety and documentation across units.
