Job summary

Tenet Healthcare seeks a Mental Health Technician to support patient care at Harper University Hospital. You will interact with patients one-to-one, assist with intake and discharge, monitor safety, and contribute to treatment planning as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The role involves night shifts with partial FTE and requires CPR certification and prior experience in behavioral health to ensure compassionate, confidential care.

Qualifications

• One year of college study in behavioral health or an equivalent combination in an adult mental health setting.
• Or an Associates degree in psychology, social work, or a human service discipline.
• Annual recipient rights training, physical management in-service, and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one interaction with patients.
• Assist in educational sessions and group activities.
• Assist with intake, admission and discharge processes.
• Perform patient, body and property searches and secure belongings.
• Monitor patient observations and document responses to interventions.
• Assist with routine clerical tasks and maintain unit equipment.

Education

Associates degree in psychology, social work or a human service discipline
