Job summary

Avamere Communities is seeking a Medication Tech to administer medications and provide direct care to residents at Avamere at Seaside in Seaside, Oregon. This full-time, noc-shift role requires weekend availability and involves working under supervision of licensed nursing staff.

You will pass medications, maintain documentation in the EMR, and monitor residents for changes while collaborating with the health team to ensure safe, compassionate care for seniors.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Caregiver and Medication Tech in Memory Care or Assisted Living.
• CPR/First Aid Certification is required.
• Food Handler's Card is required.
• Experience with electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Friendly, attentive and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Pass medications according to physician orders, delegated by and under the supervision of a licensed nurse and in accordance with facility policy.
• Administer accurately and timely.
• Record medications administered in the resident’s record.
• Notify the pharmacy when medications need to be refilled.
• Maintain a clean and organized medication cart and medication room.
• Monitor and report any side effects of medications to the Director of Health Services.
• Obtain and provide shift reports with sufficient information to implement changes to orders.
• Follow care plans related to medication administration based on resident needs and assessments.
• Assist with medical appointments, communicate with healthcare providers, and advocate for residents.
• Observe residents for health changes and report to medical professionals; monitor vital signs.
• Document changes in residents’ status in the EMR.
• Complete accident and incident reports timely per policy.
• Perform delegated nursing services as assigned by the RN.
• Participate in in-service education programs.
• Report changes in resident conditions promptly to the Director of Health Services.
