Job summary

MultiCare Health System is seeking a Medical Technologist for a night shift at Allenmore Hospital in Tacoma. The role focuses on patient analytic laboratory testing, quality control, data analysis and reporting, with instrument maintenance and problem resolution as part of daily duties.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in Medical Technology or Sciences, ASCP MT/MLS or AMT certification, and may prefer a Master’s degree and specialist certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or Sciences is required.
• Master’s degree in Medical Technology is preferred.
• Certification for Medical Technologist (MLS/ASCP/MT) or AMT or MT (AAB) is required/preferred depending on role.
• Specialist Certification in discipline (preferred) such as Specialist Hematology, Microbiology, Specialist BldBnking, Tech Chemistry.

Responsibilities

• Receive specimens and establish positive identification.
• Determine adequacy/ suitability of specimens.
• Prepare reagents and materials as needed.
• Perform instrument maintenance and calibration; ensure quality control and data reporting.
