Job summary

Hickory Treatment Centers in Linton, IN seeks a dedicated Medication Technician to support safe medication administration and client care for adults with substance use and behavioral health concerns. The Med Tech works under a licensed nurse, documenting in medical records and ensuring quality care.

Ideal candidates have a QMA program or EMT/Paramedic certification, with at least two years of related experience. Flexible schedule, strong ethics, and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a QMA program or current EMT/Paramedic certification.
• Current EMT or Paramedic certification is accepted.
• At least two years of Medication Aide experience preferred.
• Hospital, behavioral health, or substance use treatment experience preferred.
• Maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
• Professional demeanor, appearance, and attitude.
• High ethics, integrity, and client service standards.
• Knowledge of behavioral health practices and client-centered care.
• Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends/holidays.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Set up and administer medications under supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Document medication administration accurately and promptly in the client’s medical record.
• Apply topical medications and administer metered-dose inhalers as directed.
• Administer enemas under the direction of a licensed nurse.
• Provide medication-related education and support to clients within role scope.
• Monitor clients for concerns related to medication administration and report findings.
