Job summary

Lovelace Health System in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a night shift, full-time Med/Surg Charge Nurse to lead the unit and ensure high-quality patient care. The role requires nursing leadership, clinical expertise, and coordination with charge staff to manage patient flow and safety.

We offer a sign-on bonus up to $15,000 and relocation assistance to qualified candidates. Eligible candidates should have an RN license in NM and BLS/CPR certifications, with at least an associate degree in nursing.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Associate’s Degree or Diploma of Nursing.
• One year of Charge Nurse experience in a hospital setting OR more than one year of clinical or management experience.
• CPR.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Valid NM Nursing license or NM compact license (within 90 days of hire).

Responsibilities

• Responsible and accountable for the practice of Professional Nursing, including the nursing management of the patient and staff of assigned area in his/her charge.
• Manages efficient patient flow, appropriate use of supplies and other operational functions.
• Collaborates with the unit managers and/or directors in developing and revising unit policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Serves as departmental liaison and first line of contact with patients, providers and staff.
• Adheres to policies and procedures and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.
