Job summary

Lovelace Health System in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a night shift Med/Surg Charge Nurse. You will lead nursing care in a fast-paced unit, ensure patient safety, and coordinate staff and resources to optimize patient flow.

Requirements include an Associate’s degree or diploma in nursing, RN licensure in NM, CPR/BLS, and 1+ year as Charge Nurse or equivalent leadership experience. Sign-on bonus up to $15,000 with relocation assistance may apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Associate’s Degree or Diploma of Nursing.
• One year of Charge Nurse experience in hospital setting OR more than one year of clinical or management experience.
• CPR
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Valid NM Nursing license or NM compact license within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Oversees nursing care for patients and staff in assigned unit.
• Manages efficient patient flow, appropriate use of supplies and other operational tasks.
• Collaborates with unit managers/directors to develop and revise policies and protocols.
• Serves as departmental liaison and first line of contact with patients, providers and staff.
• Adheres to policies and procedures and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.
