Job summary

Smart Foodservice Stores is seeking a warehouse associate to load outbound orders into designated tractor trailers. You will inspect trailers, build and wrap pallets, verify labels, and ensure loads follow diagrams. Safety and dock cleanliness are emphasized.

The role requires pallet jack certification, attention to detail, and basic math skills. Experience in a warehouse environment is preferred; strong teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Education/Training: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Related Experience: A minimum of one year warehouse experience preferred.
• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must be pallet jack certified; good attention to detail; ability to read load diagrams; basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide). Must be team oriented and able to get along with others.

Responsibilities

BASIC PURPOSE:

To load all the outbound orders into the designated tractor trailers in compliance with company procedures and standards. This makes sure the drivers have the product safely stowed and organized for maximum efficiency for the day's deliveries.

Schedule & Location

Sunday - Thursday | 5:00 PM - Completion | Salem, VA

Rate: $26.00 Per Hour

• Conduct trailer inspection before loading to insure trailer is clean, has the proper temperature and is ready for loading.


• Ensure all pallets are built according to stops and are securely wrapped to avoid damage during transport.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Comfortable working in a multi-temperature indoor/outdoor environment ranging from -5 degrees to over 100 degrees required

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between $26.00/hr and $31.00/hr.
