Job summary

Centerpoint Medical Center is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our team for night shifts (6pm–6:30am). The role involves receiving and processing specimens, basic lab procedures, and front-desk clerical tasks such as greeting patients and answering calls.

The ideal candidate will have a Phlebotomy Course/Program, with certification preferred, and at least 1 year of relevant experience. A hospital background and teamwork are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Phlebotomy Course/Program required.
• Phlebotomy certification highly preferred, but can obtain once hired.
• One year of experience needed for interview consideration.
• MINIMUM 8-10 sticks per hour.
• Open availability for weekends for PRN.
• Hospital experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy internship desirable.
• Larger facility experience desirable.
• Trainable candidates with good experience and team ability.
• Six months keyboarding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and instruct in specimen collection.
• Draw blood via finger sticks, heel sticks, or venipuncture and collect other specimens.
• Label specimens and enter data into the computer.
• Prepare samples for microbiology, hematology, serology, blood bank, and urinalysis.
• Assist with clerical duties by answering calls.
• Collaborate closely with Nursing staff.
