Job summary

Sonora Quest Laboratories is seeking a night-shift Phlebotomist to collect and process specimens across multiple sites including hospital facilities, PSCs, IOPs, and mobile units. You will ensure patient and specimen accuracy, enter data into the system, and support quality and cost-efficiency goals.

The role requires phlebotomy certification, relevant training, and flexibility to travel to various locations, with strict adherence to HIPAA and department procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18
• High School diploma or equivalent (state dependent)
• Phlebotomy program completion or experience
• Phlebotomy certification per state regulations
• Fingerprinting certification or ability to obtain
• Valid state driver’s license; travel to multiple locations as needed
• Willingness to cover nights, weekends, and overtime as required
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred

Responsibilities

• Collect and receive biological specimens; ensure correct patient and specimen identification.
• Enter and verify patient demographics, tests requested, and related data in the LIS/billing system.
• Maintain quality and accuracy; follow policies and Six Sigma and quality standards.
• Assist with supplies management and cost reduction initiatives.
• Communicate courteously with internal and external customers; support cross-location coverage.
• Adhere to HIPAA and patient privacy requirements.
