Job summary

SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in St. Louis, MO, is seeking a Night Shift Phlebotomist to provide essential laboratory support in a fast-paced environment. Under supervision, you will perform phlebotomy, waived testing, and clerical duties to support patient care.

The role requires a High School diploma or 10 years of experience, at least one year in a lab, and BLS certification. Schedule is 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM; weekly hours around 24; benefits as an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience.
• At least 1 year of laboratory experience.
• BLS HCP certification (AHA) required.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads lab specimens from instruments and performs waived testing.
• Assists in problem requisitions/specimens.
• May orient new hires.
• Gathers and responds to customer inquiries.
• Collects, labels, processes and preserves specimens according to procedures.
• Enters lab orders in EMR.
• Cleans and maintains laboratory supplies and work area.
• Performs moderate complexity testing.
• Identifies patients using two identifiers.
• Performs administrative duties including admission activities, insurance verification, order entry processing and medical record processing.
• Works in a state of alertness and safe manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
