Job summary

Gopher Resource in Minnesota is hiring a Lab Analyst to monitor production quality and environmental compliance, collecting and analyzing samples throughout the process and guiding safety and quality decisions. You will support shift supervisors with instrument troubleshooting, data review, and training of new staff while maintaining a clean, compliant lab and implementing procedures.

This role operates on a rotating 4pm-4am schedule with a starting hourly pay of $32.31 plus a $1 shift

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED minimally required.
• Minimum 2 years of laboratory or production experience.
• Ability to read, write, and basic math.
• Willing to wear PPE in hot environments.
• ICP-OES/SS-OES experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor systems to identify and resolve emerging problems quickly.
• Test and analyze samples for sulfur content.
• Collect, prepare, and analyze smelting process samples.
• Collect, crush, prep, and analyze slag samples for TCLP analysis.
• Perform laboratory analyses including ICP-OES, SS-OES, and gravimetric moisture.
• Calibrate and check SS-OES probes and pH/ORP measurements.
• Operate high-volume air monitors and maintain lab safety.
• Assist in establishing lab procedures and train production staff.
• Advise shift managers on technical operating problems.
• Participate in meetings, training, and inventory management.
