Job summary

Singing River Health System is seeking an Inpatient Phlebotomist/Courier to support patient care at Singing River Ocean Springs Hospital. You will transport specimens, perform venipunctures, and ensure accurate labeling and processing of specimens in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a high school diploma, valid driver’s license, and the ability to work a night shift with weekends and holidays as part of a 36-hour weekly schedule.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent is required; some college in health/science preferred.
• Training in computer basics and medical terminology is preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Transports laboratory specimens between sites and follows system procedures.
• Performs venipunctures, heel and finger sticks, and other specimen collections.
• Ensures correct patient identification and proper labeling of specimens.
• Provides reports to nurses/doctors and transcribes orders for outpatients.
