Job summary

Vanderbilt Health is hiring a Staff Pharmacist for Vanderbilt University Hospital, focusing on inpatient adult care. The role operates 7:00pm–7:00am, seven days on and seven days off, with relocation support available.

Inpatient operations involve the Central Pharmacy, Sterile Products, OR, and Jim Ayers Tower. Responsibilities include reviewing orders, optimizing therapy, dispensing medications, and supervising support staff to ensure safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist license in Tennessee is required.
• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Inpatient hospital pharmacist experience is preferred.
• Relocation assistance is available.

Responsibilities

• Reviews drug orders to ensure safe, appropriate and cost-effective use of medications.
• Provides outstanding patient care by optimizing medication preparation and resolving medication-related problems.
• Prepares and dispenses medications, provides drug information and manages medication therapy in accordance with regulations and hospital policy.
• Supervises the activities of assigned support personnel and verifies accuracy of medications prior to dispensing.
