Job summary

Halifax Health in Florida is seeking a Night shift Registered Nurse for Intensive Medical Care. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the nursing process, directing and coordinating care provided by LPNs, CNAs, and other staff in line with the patient’s needs.

The ideal candidate holds an RN license in Florida, a bachelor’s degree is preferred, and completion of orientations is required.

Qualifications

• RN – Florida license required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Completion of general and nursing orientation.
• Unit orientation and unit-specific competency checklist completed.
• Excellent communication with patients, families and colleagues.
• Certifications as required by unit.
• Annual competency-based learning modules.
• Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient on admission and ongoing basis.
• Plan and coordinate care based on patient status.
• Involve family/significant others in the plan of care as appropriate.
• Initiate individualized teaching plans to ensure positive outcomes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to achieve outcomes.
• Initiate and verify physician orders.
• Administer medications according to established policies.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and ethical standards.
• Support staff orientation and professional development.
