Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider to join the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine team in Norfolk, VA. You will manage critically ill adults in the medical ICU, perform credentialed procedures, and collaborate with intensivists and the eICU team during night shifts.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Acute Care NP program.
• Current Virginia licensure or eligibility.
• National certification as PA-C, ACNP, or AGACNP.
• BLS and ACLS certification.
• Ability to obtain and maintain hospital privileges for ICU procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage critically ill patients in collaboration with intensivists.
• Perform comprehensive assessments, diagnostics, and treatment planning.
• Respond to acute clinical deterioration and critical care emergencies.
• Perform credentialed ICU procedures (arterial line, central venous catheter, thoracentesis, intubation support).
• Document care and billing within established timelines.
• Collaborate with eICU and on-call teams; participate in rounds and QA activities.
