Job summary

MemorialCare is seeking a House Supervisor for the Night shift in Long Beach. The role directs patient flow and nurse staffing across units, triages admissions, and serves as a key decision-maker for unit assignments.

You will respond to emergencies and work closely with executives and nursing leadership. The ideal candidate brings active acute care nursing practice, leadership experience, and California RN licensure with BLS/ACLS certifications.

Qualifications

• 5 years of active nursing practice in acute care.
• 2 years nursing management preferred.
• Prior nursing leadership required.
• Current California RN License required.

Responsibilities

• Directs and coordinates patient placement and nurse staffing.
• Makes final unit assignment decisions based on ATD guidelines and physician orders.
• Directs and coordinates nurse staffing and supplemental agency nursing.
• Acts as immediate supervisor for Central Staffing Office staff and Float Unit Staff.
• Responds to hospital emergencies; initiates Codes and serves as Incident Commander when needed.
• Responds to customer requests including physicians, patients, families, and staff.
• Collaborates with medical center directors to implement policies and demonstrate hospital values.
• Ensures patients receive appropriate medical care by triaging and assigning to right level of care.
• Performs added responsibilities such as staff coaching and participation in Quality Improvement.
