Job summary

A prominent healthcare institution in Baltimore is seeking a Physician Assistant to join their hospitalist team. This role involves working 12-hour night shifts and includes responsibilities such as monitoring patient progress, rounding on inpatients, and coordinating medical care in a tertiary facility. The ideal candidate must graduate from an approved Physician Assistant program and hold relevant certifications such as NCCPA, CPR, and BLS. This position offers the chance to educate future Physician Assistant students and engage in quality improvement projects.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a Physician Assistant Training Program approved by the Board of Physician.
• National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) required.
• Licensure by Maryland State Board of Physicians as a Physician’s Assistant is required.
• CPR and BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Regularly visits pre- and post-operative patients to monitor their progress.
• Rounds on inpatients and writes progress notes in patient charts.
• Orders laboratory tests and reviews patient records.
• Notifies attending physician about unusual events.

Knowledge of medical procedures and policies

Patient assessment skills

Ability to work in a team environment

CPR and BLS certification

Education

Graduation from a Physician Assistant Training Program

Licensure by Maryland State Board of Physicians
