Job summary
OSF HealthCare Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, IL is seeking a Night Hospitalist Advanced Practice Nurse to join a collaborative hospital medicine team. This nocturnist role emphasizes autonomous inpatient care, admissions and cross-cover duties, and coordination with physicians and nursing staff in a high-quality, supportive environment.
The position offers a full-time night schedule with a flexible 7-on/7-off model, comprehensive orientation, and malpractice coverage.
Qualifications
- Licensed to provide Physician Assistant Services in Illinois.
- 2–3 years of hospital medicine experience (preferred).
- DEA license for prescribing narcotics in Illinois (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive inpatient assessments and treatment plans.
- Manage admissions, consultations, and overnight clinical issues.
- Evaluate and treat acute changes in patient condition.
- Order and interpret diagnostic studies and lab results.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.
- Communicate with patients and families about care plans.
- Document care accurately in EPIC.
